Shelby has had a diverse career that spans 13 years in customer service and client coordination in outdoor recreation, patient management, and educational travel programs. Her skillset is influenced by a creative, entrepreneurial mindset, scientific thinking, and years of international travel.

Shelby is a native of Southwestern Colorado and has lived in Northern New Mexico for several years. She came to New Mexico to work as a field biologist studying the endangered Mexican Spotted Owl. By working within the state's National Forests, she fell in love with the Land of Enchantment and hopes to foster others' connections with New Mexico's beautiful public lands. 

Shelby holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental & Organismic Biology from Fort Lewis College.
